On Thursday, March 11, 2010 Governor Perdue traveled to Pamlico County to participate as the keynote speaker at a 5 County Education Forum.

The Forum was held at the Delamar Center at Pamlico Community College. Education, church, law enforcement & elected officials representing Carteret, Craven, Beaufort, Jones & Pamlico Counties participated in the Forum.

Governor Perdue spoke on her new initiative: Career and College – Ready Set Go

“Let’s commit ourselves and let’s re-focus our state’s public schools on a single goal: Every kid — no matter where he or she lives in NC — must graduate from high school with what it really takes to succeed in a career, in a two- or four-year college or in technical training.”

Governor Perdue was introduced at the Forum by Pamlico County High School Student Council President Mark MacIntyre and was presented a gift from Mrs. Holly Bradley’s Art students from the high school as well.
