If you’re the sort of person who sees a Bob’s Big Boy icon and instantly imagines how great it would look in your yard – have I got a deal for you.

A folk-art menagerie – including 6½-foot-tall chickens, a horse and a cow – that were part of a 2008 art contest at the N.C. State Fair are available to interested bidders through the State Surplus Property Agency.

Bidding will close at 1 p.m. Jan. 19 and will be awarded soon after. The objects are on display during business hours at the Surplus Property Warehouse, 6501 Chapel Hill Road (Hwy. 54 West) in Raleigh. To view the bids online, visit https://www.ncstatesurplus.com/SSP-SealedBid, and then select 1/19/2010 for the “open date.” Photos also are posted on the N.C. Department of Administration’s Facebook page.
