Thanks to the North Carolina Tar Heels Sweet Sixteen victory over Gonzaga the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina received 100 pounds of white potatoes from the State of Washington on Friday. The potatoes arrived courtesy of a wager between myself and Washington Governor Chris Gregoire.
See the photo of the potatoes below. According to the Food Bank the potatoes will be part of 84 meals.
For the NCAA Championship game tonight, more support for the Food Bank is on the line. A wager between myself and Governor Jennifer Granholm of Michigan consists of the losing governor donating one hundred dollars to a local food bank, sampling food from the winning state and wearing the winning team’s paraphernalia in a photograph.
