Governor's Page Program
New Dates Posted!
Governor McCrory believes it is important to inspire the next generation of leaders to get involved in public service. That's why the governor would like to personally welcome students to the Capitol City to participate in the North Carolina Governor’s Page Program. Established in 1973, the program provides students with an opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge of the function and roles of state government while learning about the importance of public service.
Each applicant must be a North Carolina High School student in good academic standing between the ages of sixteen and eighteen years old. Pages are selected to serve one week terms during the legislative sessions and summer with the exception of state and national holidays. Pages are expected to display professional behavior at all times.
ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Pages will tour at least one state government building during their tenure. Sites may include the Executive Mansion, State Capitol, Museum of History, Museum of Natural Sciences and Legislative Building. In addition Pages will have an opportunity to meet the Governor, Cabinet Secretaries, State Legislators, and other elected officials.
Our application is a webform application and must be completed in one sitting. You will need to be prepared to submit two letters of recommendation with your application. One letter should come from a non-relative community member (coach, pastor, youth advisor, etc.); and one should come from someone affiliated with your school (teacher, coach, counselor, etc.). The preferred file type for upload is a pdf. Please try to upload files with no spaces or symbols. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
