Proclamations     Proclamations are issued by the Office of the Governor to provide recognition for special events or significant issues. The goal of a proclamation is to honor and celebrate events or to increase awareness of significant issues of importance to North Carolinians.     Policy Proclamations may recognize a day, week or month. Proclamations are issued only to North Carolina citizens, agencies and organizations. Out-of-state requests will not be honored. Proclamations are not issued in honor of individuals. Other forms of recognition for individuals are provided. For more information, contact the Office of Citizen and Community Affairs. Proclamations must have statewide significance. Only one official copy of a proclamation is provided. If duplicate requests are made, the first request will be honored. Any subsequent copies will be prepared at a charge of $7.00 each. Proclamations are not automatically renewed. Requests must be made on an annual basis. All proclamations, once finalized, are posted on the Office of the Governor website. The issuance of a proclamation does not constitute an endorsement by the Governor.     Making your request: Complete a proclamation request form, which includes draft language. Requests should be submitted 6-8 weeks in advance. The proclamation request form may be submitted electronically, or a hard copy may be printed to submit by fax or mail.
