Franklin Freeman serves as Gov. Easley's Senior Assistant for Governmental Affairs. Freeman has served as a North Carolina Supreme Court Justice, the Chief of Staff for Governor Hunt and Secretary of the Department of Correction. Freeman and Easley have a long history of working together beginning when Easley was a District Attorney in Brunswick, Bladen and Columbus Counties and Freeman was the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts. Freeman brings knowledge of the Governor's Office and strong administrative skills to the team.

Susan Rabon serves as Easley's Senior Assistant for Administration. Rabon served as Easley's Chief of Staff in the Department of Justice. Prior to joining Easley's team, Rabon was a partner with a corporate law firm in Wilmington, N.C.
