  Certificates
 
  Certificates are issued by the Office of the Governor to recognize individuals for their contributions to the State of North Carolina. The goal is to honor individuals who have made a significant impact towards the betterment of the state.
 
  Policy
  • Certificates are to recognize individuals’ contributions to the state.
  • Certificates are issued only to North Carolina citizens.
  • The honoree must have made a direct contribution to North Carolina.
  • The nominator and the nominee cannot be the same person.
  • The Governor's Office reserves the right to rescind a certificate if false or misleading information was provided in the nomination application.
 
  Making your request:
  • Complete a certificate request form.
  • Requests should be submitted a minimum of three weeks in advance; four if the presenter desires to receive it early.
  • The certificate request form may be submitted electronically, or a hard copy may be printed to submit by fax or mail.
  • The final decision rests with the Governor’s Certificate Committee. You will be notified of a decision in a timely manner.
